I saw a need for a councilmember that truly cares about the community instead of their own self interests and betterment of themselves only. I operate on common sense instead of special interests.
Conflict of Interest: Councilmen Meyers works for the mayor at Dressel Contracting. Evaluating a situation where a city council member works for the mayor's private business involves several key legal, ethical, and procedural considerations under League of Minnesota Cities and state governance guidelines. City contracts are getting awarded to peers of councilmembers.
Mayor Dressel is business partners with Justin Kral, they own the self-serve car wash on sportsman drive. They pruchased it when the only people that knew about the high-density apartments going in across the street was City Hall! Justin Kral was given the lawncare contract for the city parks even thought there were more competitive bids submitted by equally capable companies.
Current Councilmembers are Overextended: Some councilmembers are involved in multiple other commities, boards, and councils and unable to give Chisago City the proper attention it deserves.
Finances: Taxpayer dollars have been spent unwisely for special interests while ignoring infastruture and just putting lipstick and makeup on what we can see and not addressing what we cant.
